Educational Background

BA, Communication-Public Relations, Minors in Music and Business, 蜜月直播 '11
MA, Higher Education Administration - Stony Brook University

What were you involved with on campus as a student?

As an undergraduate student at Marist, I was heavily involved with the Music & Theatre Departments on campus. I was on a music scholarship at Marist and had the opportunity to minor in music and perform in various productions through the 蜜月直播 Singers, Chamber Choir and the 蜜月直播 Council of Theatre Arts. I formed some of the best relationships with other students through these organizations. I was also involved in the Public Relations Student Society of America through the Communications department on-campus. My on-campus job as a student ambassador, tour guide, and student assistant in the Admission Office furthered my interest in pursuing a career in higher education.

Favorite spot on campus:

My favorite spot on the Marist campus is just outside of the James. A. Cannavino library, overlooking the beautiful campus green & Hudson River. I鈥檝e enjoyed spending time relaxing in this setting as a student & also a professional staff member.

Favorite Marist tradition:

My favorite Marist tradition would have to be the Giving Tree Ceremony run through the Department of Spiritual Life and Service (formerly Campus Ministry) organization at Marist which is one of our largest organizations on-campus. Every year around the holidays, the organization places trees around campus and students, staff & faculty purchase items for families in need in our local Hudson Valley area. There is a ceremony that takes place right before the fall semester ends where everyone brings their wrapped gifts and gives thanks for the work that the Marist Community does for others in need.

Favorite Marist memory:

My favorite Marist memory was performing on the stage of the Nelly Goletti Theatre for the last time in my senior year with the 蜜月直播 Singers. I spent a lot of quality time in the theatre throughout my four years on-campus and a few years as a professional choregraphing a few of the musicals.

Best advice for the college search:

Don鈥檛 be afraid to ask questions! Our staff in the Admission Office along with other Marist staff, faculty, students, and alumni are always eager to converse with our prospective students.

Why did you choose Marist?

I chose to attend Marist for a multitude of reasons but the driving force for me was the people and the sense of community I felt on-campus. I had the opportunity to visit campus a few times before making my final decision to enroll and every time I came to campus, I felt so welcomed, by the staff, faculty & students. I knew that attending Marist would give me the opportunities and experiences to help me grow & excel in the future.

What makes Marist special to you?

Marist holds a special place in my heart from my experience as an undergraduate student to my growth within the Admission Office as a professional staff member. Working with prospective students through the application and enrollment process is such a rewarding experience. Seeing Marist students thrive through their internship, research, on-campus employment opportunities, abroad experiences, and more is what makes Marist such a special place.
