Dr. Nicoline J. Kiwiet
Chair, Lecturer of Chemistry
Bio
Nicoline J. Kiwiet earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Rutgers University, followed by a Ph.D in Chemistry from the University of Texas, concentrating on photo electrochemistry of semiconductors. She then completed a postdoc at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, where she worked in material science and the growth of thin films for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. Subsequently, she worked at Philips Research Labs in the Netherlands on the chemical processing of semiconductor lasers. Her career in teaching started after she returned to the U.S.; prior to working at Marist, she taught at SUNY Ulster and Dutchess Community College. Outside of her work at Marist, she has been an active volunteer for the PTA, and continues to help organize the Math, Science, and Technology Fair for Arlington Central School District.
