Yasmine Awais

Bio

Dr. Yasmine Awais is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and maintains board certification and clinical supervision credentials by the Art Therapy Credentials Board. Dr. Awais has 25 years of clinical experience, working in various settings including the non-profit sector, public schools (NY), and medical rehabilitation (Saudi Arabia). Her passion for clinical work grew into a commitment to supervision and educating future mental health practitioners and researchers. 

She has held teaching appointments at several graduate art therapy programs before joining the Psychology Department at Marist. Dr. Awais’ scholarship is grounded in critical race feminism and clinical practice is informed by multicultural feminist counseling. She maintains a clinical and consulting practice.
